Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile application HolyQ(the “Service”) provided by SweetPulse (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

• “Service” means the HolyQ mobile application and all related services.
• “User” means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
• “Account” means the identity unit created by signing in with Google or Apple.
• “Talents” means the in-game virtual currency used to enter ranked battles and other gated features.
• “HolyQ Plus” means our paid subscription tier that removes interstitial ads, doubles daily talent rewards, and grants access to limited cosmetics.

2. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 7 days before the effective date (30 days for changes that materially affect your rights). Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

3. Eligibility

• You may register using your Google or Apple account.
• We do not permit accounts for users under 13 years old.
• Users aged 13–17 may be subject to feature and advertising restrictions, and may require parental consent for paid purchases under applicable law.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if information you provide is false or misleading.

4. The Service

• The Service includes real-time 1-on-1 Bible quiz battles, group battles, daily challenges, daily bread, chapter challenges, free practice, wrong-answer notes, rankings, and (in future releases) friends, chat, guilds, and tournaments.
• Some features require payment (in-app purchase or subscription) or consumption of virtual currency.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service for operational or technical reasons. We will provide notice for material changes.

5. Payments & refunds

• All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective terms. We do not handle your payment instrument directly.
• Subscriptions (HolyQ Plus) renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel renewal at any time in your store account settings.
• Refund requests must be made to the store of purchase (Apple/Google). We do not control or have access to their refund systems, except where the refund is due to a defect attributable to us.
• Consumer-protection laws (including the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce) may grant you statutory cancellation rights. Virtual currency that has already been consumed and limited content that has already been delivered may be excluded from cancellation, to the extent permitted by law.

6. Virtual currency

• Talents, coins, and similar in-game items are virtual currency that can be earned (daily login, perfect daily challenge, chapter quizzes, rewarded ads, etc.) or purchased.
• Virtual currency has no real-world cash value and is non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash.
• Unused virtual currency is forfeited upon account deletion and is not refundable.
• We may revoke virtual currency obtained through abuse, fraud, or in violation of these Terms.

7. User conduct

You agree not to:

• Impersonate or misuse another user’s account or credentials
• Use bots, macros, scripts, or other automation to interact with the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to circumvent security
• Obtain answers, scores, or rankings by unfair means
• Send harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, sectarian, or spam messages to other users
• Infringe our or any third party’s intellectual property rights
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law

8. Intellectual property

• All content in the Service (questions, illustrations, UI, sound, etc.) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
• Bible texts in the Service are provided under public domain (e.g., Berean Standard Bible, 개역한글판) or other appropriate licenses.
• You may use the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, perform, broadcast, or create derivative works from the content without our prior written consent.
• You retain ownership of content you submit (nicknames, chat messages, reports). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use such content to operate, provide, and promote the Service.

9. Suspension & termination

• We may issue warnings, suspend battles, reset rankings, suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
• You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Privacy → Delete account in the app. Your personal data will be destroyed within 30 days of the request.
• Upon termination, unused virtual currency and remaining subscription time may be forfeited.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

• We are not liable for inability to provide the Service due to force majeure, network outages, power failures, or third-party service disruptions (Apple, Google, Supabase, etc.) beyond our reasonable control.
• We make no warranty regarding any religious, devotional, or educational outcome you may expect from using the Service.
• We are not obligated to intervene in disputes between users, or between a user and a third party, and disclaim liability for resulting damages.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law (including consumer protection laws).

11. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be brought before the competent court determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection law of your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
